Ben Ringel - Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4

On 15th of March Samsung will be presenting its new Galaxy S4 and soon after is starting with mass production of FHD AMOLED screens. After the first information which was saying that Samsung was planning to show the world their new flagship on 22nd of March, today, Ben Ringel learned that the date was brought forward to 15th of March this year. The source has confirmed that this is a Samsung “unpacked” event, but Ben Ringel is not yet certain where Samsung will present its new device. Also, this information matches with other speculations that the Galaxy S4 will be on sale in mid-April in countries of Western Europe, and will arrive to Asia and the rest of the EU in late April or early May. We expect Samsung invitations to be sent out very soon, probably after the MWC in Barcelona.

Another rumor circling on the internet is that Samsung is planning all accessories for the device to be launched in mid-April. The accessories for Samsung S4 should be: Clear Cover, Flip Cover, Protective Cover, Extra battery with a mask, a wireless adapter, HDTV adapter and headphones.

The Information about the actual device, its specifications and price are still unknown.

Also, later this month, or early next one, Samsung Display subsidiary begins with mass production of Samsung Full HD AMOLED screen with a 440 (ppi) pixel density, and Ben Ringel said these screens should be available in early April. Samsung could also bring a new treat to its top model, and that is a combination of FMM – LITI technology for pixel processing, which is going to be based on diamond modeling of pixels.

Prestigio MultiPhone 4044 Duo

This model has kept the same SIM management, except for the application Phone that underwent some slight modifications. The sound of the telephone handset is the same as the 4055 model, but the external speaker is a little stronger.

 HTC One Google edition

After Google recently released Samsung Galaxy S4 with AOSP Android, today, HTC has done the same with their top model HTC One, after some initial speculations. The device will cost U.S. $ 599 and will sell via T-Mobile and AT & T, for a price $ 50 smaller than an identical Galaxy S4.

Unlike the original, this version of HTC’s One, has the latest version of Android 4.2.2 and comes without SNES UI upgrades on your Android HTC. Also there is no Blink Feed system, which is the main part of Sensei 5. For the moment, there is no information about the possible presence on markets outside the United States.

Although this would mark the end of Nexus brand. Google states that it would not happen and that the Nexus products will lead in some way the eco-system. We hope that these versions of the model will not remain limited only for the U.S. market and soon will expand all over the world, adds Benjamin Ringel.

Ben Ringel - Nokia Lumia 520

Nokia Lumia 520

Since the time they focused on making Windows Phone devices, Nokia has reduced the number of models presented on the market, and this strategy has made them somewhat recognizable, but the sales numbers are still not meeting the initial expectations, adds Ben Ringel. Windows Phone platform still holds practically a small market share of between 3 and 4 percent and fights BlackBerry for third place. According to IDC research house, in the first quart Windows Phone has overtaken BlackBerry, but according to Gartner, it didn’t happened yet. No matter whose platform is in third place, it is still miles away from the leading iOS and Android.

On the other hand, Nokia is slowly becoming a dominant producer within the Windows Phone ecosystem, with which, to some extent, this company achieved the intention of its leadership to become different and therefore recognized on the global market.

Today let’s take a look at the Nokia’s cheapest Windows Phone model – Lumia 520. Nokia, for their phones running on this platform is using numbers from 5 to 9 and thus defining their dimensions and price range. However, in the case of model 5, Nokia made an exception, at least when its dimensions are considered. So Nokia Lumia 520 comes with a slightly larger screen than the model 620, but still belongs to the lower price range, says Benjamin Ringel.

Ben Ringel - Android 4.3 probably in July

New Nexus 7 and Android 4.3 probably in July

After the annual Google I / O conference were not presented any new devices or the latest version of Android OS, as it was expected, some rumors and speculation began to circulate about the new date for their official presentation, says Ben Ringel.

So, DigiTimes somehow came into possession of information stating that the second generation of Google Nexus 7 could be presented in July and will arrive with the new Android 4.3 as an operating system. That same source said that during the second half of this year, Google plans to sell between 6 and 8 millions of these tablets.

If we analyze this news from the other side, it is possible that Google is trying to meet the manufacturers and therefore slowing down the release of new version of Android operating system. For example, the Nexus 4 and Samsung Galaxy S4 are practically the only newer smartphones which are running the Android 4.2, and it was introduced last fall, while others are still “stuck” with the 4.1 version. This situation does not suit to either customers or producers, and consequently neither Google.

It was also mentioned that Android 4.3 will bring not many novelties regarding to the 4.2 version, so it is possible that the first major upgrade is about to arrive in autumn, says Mr. Ringel.

Ben Ringel - News From Samsung

News from Samsung

Samsung Galaxy S4 is just around the corner, and soon will start the first reviews of this smartphone, says Ben Ringel. Yes, everything you’ve already read on the Internet was generally reviews of the prototype model which can often differ from those who arrive in the sale markets. However, one thing that will not change for sure is the protective layer on the screen of Galaxy S4 and that is Gorilla Glass 3.

In order to try out the latest Gorilla Glass 3 technology, certain Hungarian Szabolcs Ignacz indulged in scratching, cutting and rubbing the screen Galaxy S4, recorded all this with camera and put it on YouTube. On the video is visible and Samsung’s Mob!Lers logo which gives the impression that it’s some kind of marketing. But either way, this is a good advertisement for Gorilla Glass protection of the third generation which ultimately proved to be excellent.

The other news Mr. Ringel has for you is coming from Samsung and is about Galaxy Note 3, which as a successor to the current 5.5 inch Galaxy Note 2, is expected to be presented on IFA fair this autumn, while the sales should start during the last quarter of this year.

Ben Ringel - Samsung's plastic OLED screen

What has caught Ben Ringel ‘s attention are today’s new rumors saying that this model could be the first smartphone coming with plastic OLED screen. Therefore the plastic 5.9 or 6.0 inch OLED screen in Note 3 with RGB matrix should be thinner and lighter, and given the nature of the material and probably more resistant to damaging.

Evolution appears to be going on, but for confirmation of these allegations we will still have to wait for the official announcement.

Ben Ringel - Samsung Galaxy Tab 3

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 specs has leaked into public

We have previously written about Samsung’s tablet of third generation which is now in preparation, but today we have a new dose of rumors, says Ben Ringel. Moreover, we received specifications of two new products. The first one is about Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which will succeed last year’s Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, while the other is Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, which should be a direct successor to the highly successful Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

It seems that Samsung has decided to increase the latter panel in order to bring another competitor to Apple’s iPad mini. Also, this model should not be confused with Galaxy Note 8.0, because it comes without Pen Pen and the accompanying software, what in the other hand should provide it with lower cost.

Ben Ringel says that all this information should be taken with a good pinch of salt, because it is only a rumor.

Ben Ringel - Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 - pictures and specifications

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 – pictures and specifications

We’ve been expecting Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 at this year’s MWC, but obviously it didn’t arrive, says Ben Ringel. Why Sasmung is delaying the release of the new Tab is not yet clear, nor is the fact why Nexus 10 has not yet appeared on the market. Either way, the rumors about Galaxy Tab 3 are getting louder, and if you believe Samsung’s info center, i.e. Sammobile, what you see are its official renders.

It is somewhat surprising the decision to incorporate on this tablet a physical Home button, but you never know; strange are the ways of design.

In order to make the rumors and gossip more juicier, Sammobile brings a list of possible specifications, so we can immediately begin to tell fortunes about the performance of Galaxy Tab 3, especially because the first spec brings evidence of the already celebrated Octa Exynos processor.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 specifications:

- Samsung Exynos 5410 Octa CPU

- 4 x (1.6GHz ARM Cortex-A15) and 4 x (1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A7)

- Imagination Power SGX 544MP3 GPU

- 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB and 64GB Models

- MicroSD card storage expansion (up to 64B)

- 9000 mAh standard Li-ion battery

- 10,055 “2560 x 1600 display – 300PPI

- Could be PLS LCD or Super AMOLED “PENTILE”

- 8 Megapixel Camera with AF

- Video 1080p @ 30fps

- 2 megapixel front facing camera with AF

- Video 1080p @ 30fps

- IR Blaster

Of course, all of this should be taken with a pinch of salt, because we cannot have the accurate spec before the device is officially presented, adds Mr. Ringel.

Ben Ringel - Gigabyte GSmart Rio R1

Gigabyte GSmart Rio R1

Gigabyte is a relatively new name in the world of smartphones, says Ben Ringel. Until now, we knew this company as one of the largest manufacturers of motherboards, graphics cards and other components for desktop computers. Given that trends in the technological world change from day to day, Gigabyte decided to try out at producing those electronic devices for which the demand is constantly growing and today for some time Gigabyte produces smartphones based on Android. Here we will take a look at the GSmart Rio R1 model which comes with two SIM card slots.

Gigabyte GSmart Rio R1 comes in a simply designed package that’s easiest to describe as a classic. The device is made of plastic, where the front part is black, while the back comes in different variants. The one we tested came with a white backing, and there are still yellow, blue, pink and black caps. Fingerprints are most visible on the front because it’s black, while the white cover is somewhat more resistant to this. The construction seems solid and gives an impression of much more expensive device. In the first few days of using it I found traces of unwanted crackling, adds Ringel.

Gigabyte GSmart Rio R1 is a beautifully designed device with dimensions for normal everyday use. We cannot say that it is intended for more demanding users, because they will occasionally have interface problems. But who knows, if the device gets an upgrade to Jelly Bean, this issue might be changed. Less demanding users who are not looking for peak performance of the devices will certainly be satisfied with this device as it offers solid performance. It will be appreciate the most from those who are just entering the world of smartphones and those who use the services of two network operators.

Ben Ringel - Latest rumors about the Motorola X

Latest rumors about the Motorola X

About Motorola X, which is being a joint project between Motorola and Google named Phone X (and Tablet X) has been speculated for several months now, says Ben Ringel. Until now, we had an opportunity to see several different sets of data that are supposedly talking about this new device, but in practice it is often case when they are contradictive.

Today we are, again, offered with a new dose of rumor which says that Motorola X (or however it is going to be called) will be presented in November, and will use the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that comes with four cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. The diagonal size of the screen should be 4.8 inches, while the battery should have a capacity of up to 4000 mAh. This data about the battery is not surprising given that Motorola is known for using great battery on their devices.

Another of features which are mentioned is water resistant, but it is unclear whether it will have a seal as Sony Xperia Z does, or the device will be reinforced with nano coating, says Mr. Ringel.

As stated above, according to these rumors, Motorola X should be presented in November and the official start of its selling is timed for the Christmas holidays. This scenario actually makes sense because it would then be presented along with a new version of Androd OS (new version every six months), with which Motorola would finally become the official manufacturer of Google’s hardware.

Ben Ringel - Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung Galaxy S4 dawned on YouTube

Just as 15th of March approaches and with it the date of  Samsung “unpacked” event, rumors stated to appear about what will we see there. Samsung Galaxy S4 or to be more specific its dual SIM i9502 version which yesterday we could see on the pictures, today finally appeared on a video on YouTube, says Ben Ringel. This video really just confirms the details previously seen on the pictures, such as the shape and the aluminum casing edge of the phone. Click here to see the video.

It’s also been confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S4 is powered by Exynos Octa 5 processor that features a 5 inch display and Android 4.2.1 operating system. This video also shows it has battery capacity of 2600 mAh, adds Ben Ringel.
